Youlgrave Horticultural Society and Sustainable Youlgrave COMPOSTING WORKSHOP at Youlgrave Reading Room, 7.30pm
Thursday 28 February 2008
At its last meeting, the Horticultural Society decided to add a ‘Home Compost’ class to its annual Horticultural Show in September.
On the evening of Thursday 28 February in the Reading Room, Cheryl Woodruff (pictured above), Home Composting Adviser for the Waste & Resources Action Programme (WRAP), gave a talk, demonstration and answered questions about home composting. Plus, a member of Sustainable Youlgrave shared their experience of visiting the food and green waste composting site used by the District Council at Ashbourne.
With a bit of care, anyone can make the rich and crumbly stuff - worth its weight in garden gold! And you might even win a prize at the annual Show!
